War in Gaza: Erdogan blocks 'all trade' with Israel

TURKEY - ISRAEL
Ankara has blocked trade with Israel in response to the war in Gaza and the "worsening humanitarian tragedy". The measure concerns "all products" and is in force until an "uninterrupted and sufficient flow" of aid is allowed. In 2023, trade reached billion. Israel accuses Erdogan of acting like a "dictator". In 1949 Turkey was the first Islamic majority country to recognize Israel, relations have worsened in recent years.

CHINA - ISLAM
One in 26 Uyghurs in Xinjiang is in prison, the highest incarceration rate in the world. According to a report by the Uyghur Human Right Project (Uhrp), members of the Muslim minority - together with the Turkic populations - are imprisoned at a rate of 3814 per 100 thousand, 47 times higher than the overall Chinese rate (80 per 100 thousand). And three times higher than El Salvador which, as a country, has the highest value (1,086 per 100 thousand). In 2022, 578,500 Uighurs or Turkic speakers were in prison, a third of China's prison population compared to 1% of the population.

INDIA - MYANMAR
Delhi yesterday began the deportation of a first group of 38 refugees from Myanmar, who had left the country in the aftermath of the military coup in February 2021. Thousands of civilians and hundreds of soldiers had crossed the borders towards India, alerting the authorities of neighbor who has sealed the borders and blocked the free movement policy. Dozens of other refugees risk expulsion.

GAZA - UN
Even if the war in Gaza ended today after seven months of intense bombings and ground assaults, the reconstruction of all the destroyed homes would not be completed before 2040. KOREA

The level goes from “attention” to “alarm” (2 on a scale of 4) and concerns the Seoul embassies in Cambodia, Laos and Vietnam, and the consulates in Vladivostok, Russia, and Shenyang, China.

TAIWAN - CHINA
Taiwan's Ministry of Defense reports the passage of a "combat patrol" for the second time in a week, confirming growing military pressure from Beijing in the waters surrounding the island. At least 15 military aircraft were sighted, along with warships, with at least 10 aircraft crossing the median line of the Strait.

RUSSIA
According to a report by the International Monetary Fund, within the next three years the average standard of living of Russians will fall "below that of Turkmenistan". Today Russia occupies 68th place in the ranking of GDP per citizen, worth 13,648 dollars per year, six times less than the United States (,632) and four times less than Germany, with a drop of 16%.

TAJIKISTAN
Representatives of the Dekhkan, family farms in southern Tajikistan, have appealed to the authorities to clean the drainage ditches due to the high salinity of the soil, which is causing serious damage to the crops. A problem that has not been solved with the usual means for some time, and worsened by the floods that have occurred in recent weeks.
